Guild Activities
Monthly meetings consist of a business meeting with announcements of upcoming meetings, a speaker or other quilt related program and show and tell by members who proudly display their latest creations.
Classes, workshops, a picnic and perhaps, a bus trip to a quilt show or a quilt shop are planned at various times throughout the year.
Monthly Day Bees are held where a member shares a pattern or technique for all to learn. It is a wonderful opportunity, as well, for fellowship or getting help with a knotty problem you may be having with your current project.
Comfort Quilts are sewn by members and have in the past been donated to children and adults at OMH in Seneca, Hospice of the Foothills, Ronald McDonald House in Greenville, the Greenville Sexual Trauma Center, Helping Hands in Central and other similar organizations serving people who need the comfort of a soft, small quilt to make their days a little brighter.
A Quilt Show is sponsored by the guild every two years with a display of quilts produced by the members, demonstrations, and a boutique with quilts and quilt related items for sale. A donation quilt made by the members is part of the overall excitement of this wonderful biennial display. |
